Mom at 16 - Lifetime Television
On July 8th at 4pm ET, Lifetime reaired this thought-provoking drama starring Mercedes Ruehl, Jane Krakowski, and Danielle Panabaker. When 16-year-old Jacey has a baby, her life is thrown into turmoil and her mother forces her to keep the birth a secret. Eventually, with the help of a supportive guidance counselor, she finds a positive way to resolve the dilemma and use her experience to educate her peers about the consequences of teen pregnancy. Girl, Positive - Lifetime Television
On Monday, June 25 at 9pm ET/PT, Lifetime Television aired an original movie, “Girl, Positive,” starring Andrea Bowen (Desperate Housewives) and Jennie Garth (Beverly Hills 90210). Rachel is a typical high school senior when she tests positive for HIV and her world is turned upside down. As she copes with the news, she finds comfort and support from a substitute teacher who has secretly lived with HIV for years.  But gossip, like disease, can spread quickly, and no one is immune to its effects. Too Young to be a Dad - Lifetime Television
In June, Lifetime reaired the original movie, Too Young to be a Dad staring Paul Dano (Little Miss Sunshine). When fifteen year-old Matt and his girlfriend Francesca get pregnant, their worlds are turned up side down. Matt struggles with the tough decisions about adoption and being a teen parent. The Fantasia Barrino Story: Life is Not a Fairy Tale Contest - Lifetime Television
In May, Lifetime Television announced the winner of its national essay contest encouraging women to make their dreams a reality. The contest was part of the premiere of the Lifetime Original Movie "The Fantasia Barrino Story: Life is Not a Fairy Tale."  The movie followed Fantasia's journey from her complicated childhood to her triumphant success on the third season of "American Idol" and was Lifetime's most watched movie of all time.

The national essay contest asked contestants to answer the question, "What is your life long dream and what steps must you take to achieve it?"  In her winning essay, Anta James shared how the experiences she had as a youth in Senegal shaped her dream of becoming a doctor and influenced her decision to pursue a life dedicated to helping others. Fifteen and Pregnant - Lifetime Television
In February, Lifetime Television reaired the 1998 drama "Fifteen and Pregnant". When fifteen-year-old Tina (Kirsten Dunst) becomes pregnant, her parents must grapple not only with their own current marital crisis, but also their opposing views on adoption. Tina’s siblings, embarrassed by their sister’s situation, emotionally withdraw from the family, but over the next nine months, Tina’s pregnancy helps each of them understand the true meaning of family. On the February 1st episode of Grey's Anatomy, Dr. Miranda Bailey opened the doors to the new clinic and began accepting patients. On the January 29th episode, Maya and Darnell began to suspect that their son, Jabari, was growing up too fast after they saw him talking with a girl. On the January 30, 2006 episode of 7th Heaven, the entire Camden family was there to support Sandy when she went into labor. The Fantasia Barrino Story: Life is Not a Fairy Tale - Lifetime
On August 19, Lifetime aired this inspiring story of teen mother and American Idol Fantasia Barrino. Starring as herself, this movie tells Fantasia's story of poverty, illiteracy, and sexual abuse followed by her triumphant rise to stardom through the American Idol talent competition. General Hosptial - ABC
Beginning in August, General Hospital tackled a subject that thousands of young girls face every day—teen pregnancy.  18-year-old Lulu Spencer struggles with this very issue after losing her virginity to Dillon Quartermaine.  Like most teens, Lulu didn't think it would happen to her. For more information about General Hosptial, visit ABC.com.

Guiding Light - CBS
The May 2 episode concluded with an original PSA featuring Marcy Rylan (“Lizzie”) urging teens to take the 2006 National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy Online Quiz.

Latina
The May 2006 issue of Latina featured an extensive 6-page story on teen pregnancy as well as a survey conducted by Latina in partnership with the National Campaign.  The survey provided insights from Hispanic parents and teens about sex, relationships, values, and teen pregnancy.  In addition to the magazine article, Latina.com ran the story online with tips and advice for parents. 

The OC
On December 21, the gang went on a road trip to Las Vegas for New Year's Eve. While in a gas station bathroom, Taylor's purse containing an already taken pregnancy test was stolen. Teen People
The May 2006 issue of Teen People included the entire 2006 National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy Quiz.  Additionally, the issue featured a call for entries for our 7th Annual “Do Your Part with Art” PSA Contest and a short article on the National Campaign's 10th Anniversary Celebration Event featuring National Campaign Youth Leadership Team alumna Caitlin Shetter. In addition to the magazine coverage, TeenPeople.com linked to the National Day Online Quiz on their homepage and in the News section throughout May.

On the November 6, 2005 epsiode of The War at Home, Hillary’s parents learned that she was thinking about having sex. Discovery Health Takes on Teen Sex
One teen is pregnant while another takes a virginity pledge; a Brooklyn class learns about condoms while an Alabama class is taught abstinence-only. Mixed messages and parental ignorance create a vast generational disconnect when it comes to teen sexuality. Ricki Lake Plays Texas Hold'Em For The National Campaign
Ricki Lake participated in Bravo's Celebrity Poker Showdown, a tournament of 25 Hollywood stars competing to win their choice organization $250,000. Ricki participated in the game aired on October 24th, and after a close loss, still won $5,000 for the National Campaign. She's Too Young
The original Lifetime movie "She's Too Young" premiered on February 16, 2004. Academy award-winner Marcia Gay Harden starred in this thought-provoking film, which explored the cavalier sexual attitudes of a group of young teenagers as seen through a mother/daughter relationship. Their relationship changes forever when the mother finds out about the risks her daughter and her friends were taking, and when she decides to take action. Teens & Sex...The Real Truth
The Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation presented this hour long program as part of their Straight Talk 2004: A Middle School Town Forum. The hour-long tape was a community-based discussion featuring middle school students asking questions about sex, love and relationships to a panel of experts, other teens and special guests.
